Troubleshooting connectivity issues with your amp device and app

If your amp device isn’t connecting to the amp app, a quick reset is usually all it takes, but don’t worry, we’ll get everything back on track. Follow these steps to restore your connection.

Step 1: Check your Bluetooth connection

First, let’s confirm the basics.

  1. Make sure Bluetooth is on – Go to Settings > Bluetooth on your phone and confirm it’s enabled.

  2. Make sure the amp app has access to Bluetooth – Go to Settings > amp on your phone and confirm it’s enabled.

  3. Restart both your phone and the amp device – This often clears up lingering connection issues.


Step 2: Restart your amp device

A quick restart can resolve most connectivity problems.

How to restart

  1. Power down – the power switch is located at the bottom of the device.

  2. Unplug it – Disconnect the power cable and wait 30 seconds.

  3. Plug it back in and turn it on – Wait for the startup sequence to complete.


Step 3: Reconnect amp to the app

If your amp device isn’t showing up in the amp app, follow these steps.

  1. Make sure amp is powered on and nearby.

  2. Open the amp app.

  3. Tap Settings > Device Status.

  4. Click on Add New Device and follow the instructions.

  5. If the device isn’t found:

    • Check Bluetooth settings (Make sure it’s on).

    • Force close the amp app and reopen it.

    • Restart your phone and try again.

How to reconnect amp to the app

  1. Make sure amp is powered on and nearby.

  2. Open the amp app.

  3. Tap Settings > Device Status.

  4. Click on Connect and wait for the app to detect your amp device.

  5. If the device isn’t found:

    • Check Bluetooth settings (Make sure it’s on).

    • Force close the amp app and reopen it.

    • Restart your phone and try again.

  6. Select the detected device and follow the on-screen prompts.


Step 4: Update your amp device

Keeping your device up to date ensures optimal performance.

How to check for updates

  1. Open the amp app and go to Settings > More.

  2. If a firmware update is available, tap Update Now.

  3. Wait for the update to complete before using your amp device.
